Even if you don’t own a business, you’re a job creator, too. In fact, all consumers are job creators. When you spend your money at local businesses—everything from grocery stores to restaurants to dry cleaners—you’re providing those businesses with the revenues they need to employ other workers. Without your spending, those companies couldn’t keep their employees, turn a profit, or even stay in business. Every time you spend your money, you help put people to work. You’re a job creator, too.
Congress is considering policies that will hurt middle-class families, whose spending supports local businesses and creates local jobs. These policies include eliminating important tax credits and promoting deep spending cuts to programs that support middle-class North Carolina households—all to give special tax breaks to the richest 2% of Americans, a group that research has shown won’t spend as much as middle-class families will spend.
So sign our statement and affirm:
I'M A JOB CREATOR, TOO.
We will keep you up to date on opportunities to get engaged as we push back against the idea that only the richest 2% create jobs in our country.
