Jason Pikler is a senior attorney with the North Carolina Justice Center’s Consumer, Housing & Energy Project. Jason litigates impact cases on behalf of consumers and represents homeowners at risk of foreclosure and in affirmative litigation to remedy unlawful lending and servicing practices. Highlights of Jason’s work include serving as co-lead counsel in a class action against Portfolio Recovery Associates, LLC to enforce North Carolina’s statutes that protect consumers against the debt-collection practices of debt buyers, which resulted in a $4 million settlement in 2018 that benefited more than 20,000 North Carolinians.
Prior to joining the Justice Center, Jason obtained complex litigation experience at private law firms in San Francisco, which included representing plaintiffs in consumer class actions. Jason received his BA from Haverford College, an MA in English literature from the University of Virginia, and his law degree from the University of Texas School of Law.View Jason Pikler's Publications
