As of mid-July 2020, there are nearly 90,000 North Carolinians who have been infected with COVID-19.

The map below shows the virus has not gone away; on the contrary, it has continued to make its way through the Tar Heel state at an alarming rate over the past four months.

Wearing masks and taking precaution will help spread the spread. But there are also policy changes lawmakers could take to help improve the health outcomes of all North Carolinians. Medicaid expansion in this unprecedented time is the least we can do to meet this challenge with a policy remedy.
