STATEMENT: Senate passes Medicaid expansion in historic vote; we call on House to do the same

RALEIGH (June 2, 2022) – Yesterday, the North Carolina Senate took a monumental step and passed Medicaid expansion. This vote marks an extraordinary moment in North Carolina’s history and another step toward expanding life-saving health care to more than 600,000 people living in our state.

We look to the House to continue this momentum by taking up the bill and voting to expand Medicaid. All North Carolinians deserve affordable and high-quality health care, and we are closer than ever to making this care a reality for hundreds of thousands of our family, friends, and community members.
