Ivy Johnson joined the Justice Center in September 2019 as a Staff Attorney with the Fair Chance Criminal Justice Project, where she will work on improving the loves of people with criminal justice involvement. Prior to joining the Justice Center, Ivy was a Criminal Justice Litigation attorney at the Southern Coalition for Social Justice.

Ivy grew up in Brooklyn, NY and earned her B.A. in Government and French from Wesleyan University in Connecticut. She then went on to earn her J.D. from the University of North Carolina School of Law where she was a staff member on Volume 94 of the North Carolina Law Review. While at the Southern Coalition for Social Justice, she litigated the Fourth and Eighth Amendment rights of justice involved and incarcerated people. She has seen first hand the collateral consequences of even the most minor interactions with the criminal system and hopes to minimize those consequences through her work.
