Claire Williamson, Senior Energy Policy Advocate with the NC Justice Center, recently spoke to Canary Media about how $10M in funding will support weatherization repairs for 500+ homes in western NC — over a year after Hurricane Helene devastated the region. 

This unlocks aid for households previously shut out of energy-efficiency programs due to major home damage and will benefit the entire state.  

“It’s not only helping families recover… it’s also easing rising energy costs,” said Claire Williamson, Senior Energy Policy Advocate with the NC Justice Center. “When homes are more efficient… it lowers the impact on the grid.”
