The North Carolina Justice Center is working on a statewide advocacy campaign focused on ending North Carolina’s practice of suspending a person’s driver’s license because of their inability to pay a traffic ticket or get to court.

We are looking to interview people from North Carolina who had their NC driver’s license suspended because they couldn’t make it to court AND:

  • Lost housing, a job, medical access, childcare, or food access because they couldn’t legally drive, or
  • Struggled with public transportation or lived in an area with no transit options, or
  • Possibly benefitted from government programs in Orange County, Durham County, Buncombe County, or another County (court text reminders, mobility services, court debt relief, etc.)

If you or someone you know match any of our criteria, we want to hear from you!
