MEDIA ADVISORY: Federal Employees in Raleigh to Protest Government Shutdown on January 25

Local workers among 800,000 nationwide not getting paid during shutdown

What: Forty percent of the federal workforce – 800,000 employees nationwide – are not getting paid or being forced to work without pay during the partial government shutdown that began at midnight on December 28. The American Federation of Government Employees is organizing a press conference with North Carolina labor leaders and public policy allies to highlight the effect this shutdown is having on our members, their families, and the state.

When: Friday, January 25 at 11:45am (rally time) and 12:00pm (press conference)
