RALEIGH (May 26, 2022) – Rep. Julie von Haefen (HD 36) and Rep. Rosa Gill (HD 33) will host a press conference on Wednesday, June 1, at 12:00 PM to discuss investments in public education that would address student mental health challenges, combat learning loss, and provide teacher pay increases that keep up with inflation and help retain veteran educators.

Legislators will be joined by Tamika Walker-Kelly, President of the North Carolina Association of Educators, and leaders from Every Child NC including Jenice Ramirez, Executive Director at ISLA NC; Aprie’la C. Warren, Community Cultivator at A Better Chance A Better Community in Halifax County; and Marcus Bass, Executive Director of Advance Carolina.
