MEDIA ADVISORY: Small business owners to gather for health care roundtable
The NC Justice Center’s Health Access Coalition will examine policy changes that could improve quality and affordability of health coverage
DURHAM (May 7, 2009) -- Small business owners will gather for a roundtable discussion on health care issues sponsored by the NC Justice Center’s Health Access Coalition this Thursday night in Durham.
The meeting will allow a small group of local business owners to share their experiences with the current health care system, examining to what extent the private health insurance industry adequately serves the needs of small businesses. Health Access Coalition staff hope to explore policy changes that will improve small business’ ability to offer high quality, affordable health coverage.
Business owners will discuss their health care challenges and/or successes this Thursday, May 7 from 6 p.m.-8 p.m at the Golden Belt building in the offices of Durham’s Department of Neighborhood Improvement Services. The address is 807 E Main Street Suite 2-300 (building 2, third floor).
The NC Health Access Coalition works to educate the public and policymakers about health care reform options, empowering consumers to become active participants in developing health policy.
