The South has the nation’s highest uninsured rates, overwhelming rates of poverty, chronic health conditions, and racial health inequities. Southerners are organizing to show the nation that we can unite to ensure affordable healthcare for our people and fight the legacy of slavery and racial injustice that has plagued our region.

Please join us for the first-ever Southerners for Medicaid Expansion Digital Vigil on October 1 at 7pm EST/6pm Central Time. With over 180,000 Americans dead from COVID-19 and tens of thousands of Southerners who have died from not expanding Medicaid, we invite you to join us for this action of remembrance to honor the lives of people who have suffered from being uninsured and unable to get the healthcare they need.
