RALEIGH (Nov. 16, 2011) --  This Wednesday, budget issues coalition Together NC is launching "On The Chopping Block," a web-based resource that tracks the impact of budget cuts in every economic development region of North Carolina.

The site is a one-stop repository for localized info about how budget cuts are impacting communities around the state. Available at TogetherNC.org,  On The Chopping Block is a resource where journalists and citizens can find unemployment and poverty data for their communities as well as local news stories showcasing the impact of budget cuts.

The resource will document how budget cuts have harmed teachers, mental health workers, and community infrastructure around the state. The data is organized by economic development region, so On The Chopping Block can be a resource for reporters in every region of North Carolina.

Without vital new revenue, the site makes clear, North Carolina's essential public investments will continue to suffer.

The “On The Chopping Block” resource can be accessed from the TogetherNC.org website.
