Education Leadership Institute

The Education Leadership Institute is an advocacy training program created out of a belief that informed parents and community members are essential to making public education the best it can be for all students. This is an intensive, 30-hour workshop that provides participants within the knowledge and skills they need to be effective advocates.

At the Education Leadership Institute, you will learn:

  • About the state’s responsibility to provide every child with a “sound basic education” and what that means for students in your community
  • How to use federal laws to protect children’s education rights
  • How you can work to change school suspension policies

The Education Leadership Institute is offered free to the participants. The Justice Center provides materials and food and covers any other costs associated with the training.

The next workshop will be offered in the spring of 2009. Please contact Beth Jacobs at (919) 861-2064 for information.
