Defenders of Justice
Justice Circle Clayton Henkel is the Senior Communications Coordinator for N.C. Policy Watch, a progressive public policy think tank that is a special project of the N.C. Justice Center. Clayton joined the project in November 2009, and is responsible for its website and newsletter management as well as production of its weekly “News and Views” radio program.
Before joining N.C. Policy Watch, Clayton was an award-winning special projects reporter and producer for the North Carolina News Network and WRAL-FM. Her work received numerous honors, including the RTNDA Edward R. Murrow award for excellence in electronic journalism. In her career, she has also served as communications director for a statewide educational nonprofit with a mission to improve literacy skills through the use of digital media.
She has a bachelor’s degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
